It’s that time of the year again. The season when we begin to slow down, shut our laptops, and make room for friends, family, and well-deserved rest. December… the Friday of the year. A month full of festivities that fills us with optimism and joy.
It is also a natural moment to sit back, exhale, and intentionally take stock of the year: the good, the bad, and even the messy. As we reflect, we gain a template we can carry into 2026, as much as life allows, because life is anything but predictable.
Are you ready to take stock of your finances in 2025?
If so, grab your journal and a pen and work through the questions below:
-
If you were to describe your 2025 financial journey in one word, what would it be and why?
-
What are you most proud of achieving financially this year? Why?
-
What is one financial decision you made in 2025 that you wish you could undo? Why?
-
Which financial decision stretched you the most this year? Why?
-
What financial opportunities were you able to take advantage of this year?
-
What financial opportunities did you choose to opt out of this year and why?
-
What was your biggest financial lesson of 2025?
-
Based on your experiences this year, what area do you need to intentionally grow in?
-
What would you like your 2026 financial journey to look like?
-
What action steps will you take to bring your 2026 financial goals to life?
2025 may not have gone the way you hoped. But it has handed you lessons that can guide you into 2026 if you choose to embrace them.
And if 2025 did unfold just as you dreamed, then give yourself permission to dream even bigger for 2026.
